First time seller

Congratulations you’ve sold your first item on phubber!

Now just a few simple tips before you send your item off to your buyer:

As you’re a new seller, your debit/credit card account may need verifying to receive payments for your sold items. If your account hasn’t been fully set up this will prevent you receiving payment until you do so.

you can find out how complete the verification process here

Before you ship, make sure your payment has completed.

You should only ship your item once your payment has fully completed and funds are accessible in your debit/credit card account, so please check before you ship.

Please note: shipping your item(s) before the funds have cleared will void your seller protection, so make sure the payment is under your 'completed' transactions rather than 'pending'

Send your items with tracked shipping.

You're all sorted and you've got your money, next thing is shipping it out. Always make sure that you send your items with tracked shipping so that you’re covered if anything should go wrong.

How to write a good description

Tell us everything you can about the item. Again, not only are more informed buyers more likely to make a purchase, the more we know about your item, the more search results and suggested items it will show up in, and more people will see it. The more people who see your item, the higher the odds it will sell.

Make sure to note any and all flaws, no matter how minor they seem. Not doing so will result in unhappy customers and negative feedback.

Use as many relevant hashtags as you can. E.g. #fall #vintage #kawaii #sale, etc.

Only mention/hashtag relevant brands. Listings with irrelevant brand names in the description get caught in our spam filter and won't show up in search results and suggested items, and can't be featured on the explore page.

Good:

Supreme x fila italian wool track jacket. Size m, but runs small. Tiny flaw on left sleeve, close-up in second photo. #supreme #fila #streetwear #collab

Not so good:

Supreme x fila jacket. #supreme #fila #bape #palace #unif #midnight #yeezy #champion #tommy #polo

What is an echeque?

Can't see your payment on your debit/credit card history? Visit this page

Sometimes you may see payments from buyers as 'pending' - this is usually as they chose the method of paying by e-cheque. To get instant payment, do the following:

Go to your debit/credit card homepage and log in

Scroll down the left-hand column to the bottom, to 'selling tools', click on 'seller preferences', like so:

This takes you to a page where you can manage incoming payments

In order to block e-cheques, please scroll down to 'getting paid and managing risk' then to 'block payments'

Scroll down to 'echeques'

You will need to select this and save the changes so it updates to your account

How to buy safely

Always pay using the buy button.  This way if something goes wrong we can work to quickly rectify the situation and you will be refunded the full amount if your item doesn't arrive or is significantly not as described. Never pay for an item via bank transfer, direct debit/credit card payments, concealed cash or any other out of app methods - this is strictly against our terms of service and it doesn’t protect you either!

Always check the seller’s reviews. This is a great way to see the track record of a seller

Ask the seller about their return policy. Do they offer refunds? If so, what is the refund procedure?

Pay attention to fakes. If you are not sure whether an item is genuine or not, ask the seller for more information and report it to us if still in doubt. We will investigate together here are our tips on how to spot a fake item

If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. Always check the pictures, description and price of the item thoroughly to avoid any potentially fraudulent situations

Ask the seller to ship the item with tracked delivery and to show you proof of postage. This way, both of you will know where the item is at any time and when it reaches its destination.
